Almost...done...

This god forsaken year of university is almost done! Wheee! There is less than one week left before classes are over, then we have a couple of days off then...

Exams.

Not looking forward to those :( I'll survive though! I've gotten through them last semester, and I'll dominate them this semester as well :D

Anyway, class time! Sorry for the short entry, but I must learn about the history of the world O:

Webadvisor Blues

I don't know about some of you guys, but I almost had a mental breakdown this morning. Why? Because of webadvisor! Most of us future second year students managed to pull ourselves out of bed and jump to the STU site by 6AM this morning to register for classes. Just for getting us out of bed by this time is warrant for some kind of medal. Unfortunately what we received was far less then that. By 6:00:01 webadvisor crashed. It crashed harder then Hillary duff's career. By 6:30 a system reboot was done and a lucky few of us got to get a couple courses registered. Unfortunately, it once crashed again. It continued crashing until well after 10 AM. It took me over four hours just to pick out my ten courses for next year!

STU has some of the worst IT services I have ever witnessed, it's embarrassing. Build a system that can meet moderate demand. I know we have a low budget, but we are small! It's not like we flooded the system with tens of thousands of people. I'm apparently not the only unimpressed student. Within an hour of the first crash there was at least 3 facebook fan pages/groups made complaining about webadvisor. There was also a lot of funny comments made. My favorites were "Webadvisor crashes more then a drunk driver," and "No wonder why school shootings happen." Ya, ya these jokes are in poor taste but It's how we all felt. Don't deny it. I even felt threatened for my life when a person who shall remain unnamed(Lucas Schofield) started threatening to stab people.

STU, you are potentially causing violence and unrest. It starts with facebook groups and escalates into civil war. Professor vs Professor, Student vs Student, Friend vs Friend, History majors vs English majors...pure mayhem. Is this what you want? I don't think so! So get your heads out of the clouds and get a better system going. If not? Get rid of the current one...and/or staff. I'm pretty sure we the students are paying for better then this.

Rant over,
~James.

Holy crap

I haven't been writing... at all... because I suck.

Sorry world.

But school has been like... psycho bitch retarded these last couple of weeks, and it's really hard to find time to sit down, think up something to write about and post it. I actually wrote an entire long post last week, but then forgot to post it... how absent-minded am I? I mean... you write it (which I did), and then you click the big-ass button that says "PUBLISH POST"!!

And I forgot.

Fuck.

Anyway, It should be easier to find time to blog around the end of next week, as all my papers/assignments/everything in the whole world is due from monday to wednesday next week. Wish me luck!

Procrastination

So I feel as If I've reached an all time low in my work ethic. I told myself (and I think everybody does), that I'm going to have a better work ethic in university. Well, it never happened. I have 4 major essays due within the next two weeks and I have only started one, and by started I mean thought about it. Oh well, it's true what they say I guess. First year arts students really don't work at all. Unfortunately, my grades might be showing this. I'm probably sitting at a 2.7 - 3.0 GPA. This isn't bad at all, but I could do a lot better with a little effort. Instead, I spend my work time writing blogs(?), theorizing about Lost, listening to some obscure band, and/or staring into space. It's a little ironic how I'm writing this blog when I should be writing my economics essay, but what's the fun in that? I can't just ramble like I do in here. I don't have to worry about Chicago, MLA, or some other stupid form of citation. Would it of been that hard to stick with one format? The education system is annoying and frustrating, which is why I'm guessing super educated people are also. Anyways, this is a long enough rant so I feel like I should actually get some work done.

Ps: If you're reading this and in university, you are probably procrastinating too. So get off my blog!!

My Daily Routine

Well, as you see we haven't updated our blog in a long time. You see, we have very busy lives. It's hard out here for a student, especially for me. Check out my Monday's for example. I have to get up at 12:00 P.M to get ready for my 1:30 P.M class. I don't know about you, but this is pretty early. Universities should not allow morning classes. After the torturous fifty minute class where I have to listen to my teacher rant about how conservatives are the spawn of Satan I have to spend an hour and a half in economics. (You know, after an hour break of eating in the Cafeteria) Economics is tough, tougher then any normal person would expect. I have to sit in the back and use facebook for an hour and a half. Inhumane right? Then after that I have to carry my heavy backpack to the bus stop and ride it back to my residence. After this grueling day how can you expect me to do anything but watch T.V and surf the web. If I'm lucky I might get the strength to talk to a few people. By the time I'm done resting it is close to you know... 2AM in the morning. At this point I am forced to go to bed to heal my body for the next round of boot camp like days. It's terrible. I am paying 12,000 a year for this, so I'm glad I'm being intellectually challenged. A Liberal Arts university is a grueling career that we all must take to sit behind a desk someday and answer calls. I for one know that I'm glad I decided to go here.

Get your fucking selfish head out of egotistic ass

Why is it that in different cultures we have different morals? Shouldn't all morals be the same when it comes to human good? For instances: greed; an act of being selfish. When in time did “I’d rather help myself then help others” become a more powerful argument, because I’m sure that it wasn’t always like this.

Example:
Today, in psychology; our professor told us that for our next mid-term we can choose to add a half a mark or two marks to our final grade. but the catch is if more then half vote for two marks, then no one gets any marks. Surprise surprise, more then half the class voted for two marks.

I’m not putting myself on a pedestal as the least selfish human being either, I’m guilty of voting for the two extra marks and very guilty of being tremendously selfish at times.
But the amount of ill-concern for others in modern day life is just so tragic. Even the little things that we could do to make other human beings day a little more, for the lack of a better word, livable. There’s people out there that lead very misfortunate lives, sometimes by choice others by no fault of there own. But things like holding a door for some one, using manners and just being all around polite when speaking to someone. Instead of walking through someone because your on a goddamn cell phone. It’s gotten to the point where people when talking on there cell phones have created there own alternate reality. SO STOP GIVING YOUR PHONE MORE RESPECT THAN THE PERSON RIGHT IN-FRONT OF YOU! It’s not real; the person in-front of your big, fat, ugly, egotistic face is real.

Oh, by the way, if we would have voted more half marks than two; the professor would have given us all two marks not penalizing anyone.

Peace: AaRoN MalleY
